Sr Technical Services Scientist - Pfizer (Puerto Rico)
**ROLE SUMMARY**
Technically independent, is responsible for manufacturing process analysis, troubleshooting, process/cleaning validation, control schemes, and standards, process optimization, qualification of alternate raw materials and components, or transfer of production from development or between commercial sites.
Able to make independent contributions to the development of new methodologies or new technologies. Provides significant contributions on project teams and may lead a multi-functional team. These projects may have a high level of technical complexity. Projects may include any or all of the following stages: scope definition, feasibility studies, lab/pilot scale modeling, simulation, cost/benefit analyses, design, specification development, project planning, implementation, and post-implementation monitoring and follow-up. May contribute to long-term strategic development of a project or functional area and/or capable of leading cross-functional projects with limited direct involvement from their supervisor. Projects must achieve business, quality, and compliance objectives, and must be executed in a manner that assures full compliance with government regulations and internal company standards and values. Organizes and provides written and/or verbal presentation of their work with some input from supervisor. Executes multiple, well defined projects/assignments efficiently and documents the results expeditiously.
**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Execute product transfer from development or between commercial sites.
+ Assures process reliability. Optimizes and develops current production processes. Identifies and implement process improvement opportunities.
+ Documents in the form of process development reports and protocols.
+ Executes Process Qualification of existing and new equipment and processes.
+ Co-ordinates in-house and external trials of new processes and equipment
+ Updates existing production documentation
+ Qualification activities
+ Applies project management tools
+ Troubleshoots the process as require by production
+ Evaluate process performance; trend analysis, yield evaluations.
+ Troubleshoots the equipment as require by manufacturing AREAS
+ Executes cleaning validation and cleaning monitoring as required
+ Revises SOPs and guarantee that instructions are clear and aligned with Pfizer Quality standards (PQS).
+ Assists during deviations investigation process and document investigation as required
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Minimum of B.S. Preferably in Engineering or Natural Sciences (Microbiology, Biology, or Chemistry). Others (e.g. Business) may be acceptable when supplemented with technical work experience.
+ At least five years of industrial or academic experience in regulatory affairs, operations, quality assurance, Technical Services or development functions as practiced in the Pharmaceutical field.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and interpersonal skills are required.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Previous experience executing as a Technical Services Scientist (Product transfers, Process and Cleaning validation experience is preferable).
