This position will support the Abbott Vascular manufacturing site located in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico
**_Main Purpose of role:_**
Promotes Abbotts vision and values and serves as leadership role model. provides strategy and leadership to a highly technical trained group of engineers, responsible for delivering process and equipment improvements, use of lean tools, to deliver on time in full project enhancements that improve quality, ergonomics, thru-put, yield, cycle times and reliability. Projects will deliver customer satisfaction and achieve site ramps, NPI and improve manufacturability of products, equipment availability and enhance regulatory compliance while meeting division and corporate goals. Manage team of engineers and technicians supporting manufacturing operations in partnering with Front line ME's, QE's and equipment maintenance team and processes to design, deliver, qualify and validate projects for efficient and world class manufacturing methods.
**_MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES_**
+ Responsible for Site NPI & Capital Projects supervision, coaching and leadership.
+ Responsible to manage and provide direction to a group (s) of engineers and technical personnel ensuring manufacturing equipment are up and running supporting manufacturing production effort.
+ This also include managing cost productivity improvement projects and cost reduction projects.
+ Establishes departments goals in conjunction with Engineering Manager, Manufacturing / Production Manager, and Divisional Manufacturing Engineering.
+ Assures compliance of subordinates to all policies and procedures concerning all areas of the Quality System, environmental, regulatory, safety and human resources.
+ Interfaces with other plant areas or divisional organizations in the implementations of cost reduction projects in relation to the plant processes.
+ Supports engineering projects generation and implementation, and coordinates shutdowns of facilities, utilities, systems and equipment to ensure completion of projects without negative impact to the manufacturing operations.
+ Cultivate internal and external network of resources to complete tasks.
+ Mentors employees by sharing technical expertise and providing feedback and guidance.
+ Initiates, suggests, supports and implements actions to maximize profits by containing expenses through improved operations, new products transfers, and plant's facilities and equipment capacity studies.

**_Qualifications_**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, MBA desirable.
+ Minimum eight (8) years of related work experience in manufacturing and engineering area. Engineering degree is required to understand, lead, review, motivate and communicate to a staff of graduates, professional engineers and highly technical external consultants.
+ Good communication skills verbal and written in English, Spanish and regulatory language.
+ Computer literate
+ Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to effectively lead in a team environment, adaptable to change, able to manage competing priorities, analytical and problem solving skills.
