DXC Technology is growing significantly in the Isabela, PR area over the next several months and we are seeking top talent to support our growing needs. We are currently seeking to grow in the Big Data area and are looking to hire some Senior Oracle Database Administrators at the Senior Professional level at either our Isabela or San Juan offices.
_Duties and Responsibilities:_
+ Provide senior level technical leadership for database environments, including testing and installation of DBMS upgrades, and project management support from the database administration perspective
+ Provide a lead role in documenting database strategies and architectures
+ Participate in tool evaluation, integration and support
+ Monitor the performance of production systems and utilize appropriate tools to identify tuning requirements
+ Provide a lead role in the logical and physical database design and assist application developers in applying DBMS technology
+ Provide on-call 24 X 7 support for mission critical databases and environments _Essential Knowledge:_
+ Backup and recovery processes and technologies.
+ Database knowledge (logical and physical design)
+ Database tuning
+ Data integrity concepts
+ Broad technical knowledge of client/server and web-based environments
+ Experience working with Oracle advanced features such as RAC, Partitioning, Streams, OEM
+ Understands and is willing to provide on a rotational basis, 24 X 7 database support
Qualifications
_Essential Skills:_

7+ years Oracle DBA on multiple instances
Oracle 10g/11g
·
Good programming skills for database management and general software
·
Writing skills
·
Good interpersonal skills
·
Ability to work well independently as well as within a team environment.
·
Experience with Linux/Unix
OS and shell scripting
·
Leadership skills to guide work teams
·
Strong leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel
·
Strong project planning and estimating skills related to area of expertise
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
