SQL Server DBA Professional - DXC Technology (Puerto Rico)

We are currently seeking to grow in the Big Data area and are looking to hire some MS SQL Server Database Administrators at the Professional level. Principle Duties and Essential Job Functions:• Provide technical support for SQL Server database environments, including testing and installation of DBMS upgrades and backup and recovery of existing databases• Assist in documenting database strategies and architectures • Monitor the performance of production systems and utilize appropriate tools to identify tuning requirements• Participate in 24 x 7 page out/call out support on a rotating basis for production database support issues• Participate in tool evaluation, integration and support
Qualifications
**Basic Qualifications:**
• 5+ years MS SQL Server 2008/2014 DBA experience on multiple databases
• 5+ years database administration and technical support for production database environments, including performance and tuning
• 7 years IT experience
• Windows 2003, 2008 Server OS
• Database Backup & Recovery
• Performance Tuning
• Database Server Installation & Configuration
• Subsystem infrastructure (64 bit, Fail over design, Log sizing, etc) implementation
• Familiarity with SQL Server in a clustered environment
• Experience with Integration Services, Analysis Services and Reporting Services
• Experience with Enterprise environment change control procedures
**Nice to Have Skills:**
• Programming experience in T-SQL, Powershell
• Excellent communications skills (both oral and written)
• Good interpersonal skills
• Active Directory Experience
• Any experience with DTS to SSIS conversions
• Data Warehouse administration experience
• Microsoft certification a strong plus
**Education Required:**
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
