Credit and Collections Analyst - Abbott (Puerto Rico)

The position will be based in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
**Job Summary:**
+ Maintain accurate financial information and IT systems and provide to the affiliate with the analytical support and financial information in compliance with corporate policies and government regulations.
+ Responsible of maintaining sound Accounts Receivable balances and aging while fostering good customer relationships, and working together with the rest of the organization. Approve or decline credit orders in accordance with established credit and collection policies, practices and procedures to assure maximum sales, sound receivables, and prompt conversion of receivables into cash with minimum of past due accounts.
**Major Responsibilities:**
+ Responsible of knowing market conditions and keeping Abbott’s Administration informed on portfolio situation.
+ Responsible for timely collection of receivable accounts and meeting monthly collection plans. Responsible for achieving Days Sales Outstanding plan (DSO) for Bad Debt Reserve for assigned portfolio..
+ Responsible for maintaining customer accounts reconciled on a monthly basis (skipped invoices, differences, claim letter and others).
+ Responsible of presenting department reports completed, corrected and on time. Prepare and refer customer adjustments for Abbott’s evaluation and processing.
+ Apply the company’s credit and collection policies, practices and procedures to maintain assigned portfolio within specified credit lines and dollar limits. Document and claim all unjustified customer deductions.
+ Contact all internal and external personnel related to assigned portfolio of customers to coordinate service strategies during critical situations and assure the best financial services.
+ Execute the established program for collections and follow-up of accounts receivable. Responsible for maintaining assign customer portfolio reconciled on a monthly basis.
+ Refer all trouble accounts to credit manager fully documented and with evidence of collection efforts. Discusses with superior, when necessary, questionable or special requests for credit.
+ Seek assistance from all possible sources (sales, marketing, customer service, others) to handle delinquent accounts.
+ Maintain excellent customer relations.
**Education Requirements:**
+ Bachelor in Accounting or Finance. CAP, ACAP.
**Experience Requirements:**
+ Minimum two (2) years of experience as Credit and/or Collection Analyst.
**Other Requirements:**
+ Knowledge of Account Risk Assessment, Business, Commercial, and Bankruptcy Legislation, Collateralization/Securitization, Collections, Forecasting and Sensitivity Analysis, Measurements of Performance/Reporting, Process Development/Technical Proficiency.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Strong logical, analytical skills and independent judgment.
+ Ability to negotiate and influence.
+ Effective problem solving and decision making.
+ Proficient PC skills (Lotus 123, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
+ Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in both English and Spanish.
